Gesture coordinates is an interactive multimedia installation that captures and translates the viewers gesture, movement and position in space into an encoded iconographic feedback system. As the viewer moves closers and further from the interactive system, a physical motorized arm draws patterns on a digital tablet. These physical movements are digitized and feb back to the viewer on a large projection in the form of 2 dimensional multicolored cells that appear and fade out as the digital stylus moves in that direction. Also represented in the projection as a backdrop is real-time video of the viewer moving in space. One is confronted with the representation of their own gesture overlayed by the encoded gestural response. The grid output is a blown up pixilated segment taken from the artforum cover that covers the digital tablet.
