“express and local” (2004) was a hardware/software performance developed at the Medialab-Madrid in 2004 and was performed on location at the Conde Duque in Madrid, Spain as part of the AV Lab program, organized by . The Medialab_Madrid has moved to a different location next door to Caixa Madrid on the Prado Street and renamed Medialab-Prado.

Below is the text written by two of my Interactive Media students who created a hardware and software music group named “Toybox” and posted this video documentation of the collaborative performance at Collin County Community College Gallery. Express and Local was invited to exhibit there and on opening night we offered a live collaborative hardware/software performance: “Toybox’s performance at the collin county community college gallery.

“This was a collaboration between Me+John(Toybox) with our professor Max Kazemzadeh’s art piece called Express + local. Which is about the decision of which subway route to choose(Express or local). John performed with his circuit bent toys, and I did live visual/audio mixing with cameras and video/audio content to fit the theme of the project.” -VJ Anomolee
