360 Score was a collaborative project completed in Medialab Prado (Madrid) in 2008, with Philippe Chatelain, Alvaro Castinelli, Carles Guiterrez, Guillermo Casado, and Enrique Tomas. 360 Score was a hardware and software project that used a kinetic laser line and cameras to scan and translate 30 points of color-based data from a constantly moving and rotating linear guide from a maze-like mural designed by Philippe Chatelain. The 30 points of color-data collected along the laser line is then translated into 30 simultaneously played notes, 30 frames per second. When visitors stand in front of the drawing, blocking the drawing color-data, the color of their clothing then gets translated into sound instead, creating more uniform beats in most cases. The work was then exhibited at the Medialab-Prado folowing the 2008 Interactivos workshop, and then moved to the “Line, Surface, Noise” environmental installation/exhibition held at the Joan Miro Foundation in Spain from October to December 2008.
